Introducing Two of North Texas’ First Babies Born in 2026

A New Year’s Blessing: Twin Boys Bring Joy to North Texas Family

In the early hours of January 1, 2026, the excitement of New Year’s celebrations took on a whole new meaning for one family in Grapevine, Texas. At Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, Elizabeth and Ed Evans welcomed their identical twin boys, William and Elliott, into the world. Arriving just minutes apart at 1:16 a.m. and 1:18 a.m., the boys are among the first babies born in North Texas in the new year.

    Expecting the Unexpected

Originally due in early March, the arrival of William and Elliott came as a surprise to Elizabeth and Ed. After several weeks under close observation at the hospital, Elizabeth began labor earlier than anticipated. Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. E. DeAllen Clark played a critical role in the decision to proceed with delivery. “We tried some things to try to stop her labor, but they didn’t work as well as we wanted them to,” Dr. Clark explained. Eventually, they opted for a safe delivery as the clock approached midnight.

An Early Start in the NICU

Both boys are currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), receiving specialized care as they make their celebrity debut into the world. Despite their early arrival, Elizabeth expressed optimism about their health. “They’re doing fantastic," she said. "We are very happy about the progress, and they’re little warriors.” Weighing in at 3 pounds, 7 ounces each, both William and Elliott are fighting strong, showing promising signs of development.

    New Parents’ Joyful Journey

While the joys of parenthood have begun, Elizabeth and Ed are still navigating the learning curve that comes with having twins. “We haven’t held them yet. They’re small, and we’re working on that,” Elizabeth shared. Ed chimed in proudly, detailing one of his first parenting feats: “But I have changed the diaper! So I was very, very proud of that.”

    Celebrating with Community Support

The couple has received an overwhelming show of support from family, friends, and the community. “There’s a lot of people rooting for us, a lot of people sending really nice messages and everything,” Ed said, highlighting the warmth and encouragement surrounding their growing family.

    The Joy of New Beginnings

Dr. Clark reflected on the fulfillment that comes from being part of such significant moments in families’ lives. “We have the best job in the world," he stated, smiling. "Anytime you can be a part of any pregnancy, any delivery, some consider it God’s greatest gift.” This sentiment resonates throughout the hospital, reminding everyone involved that life’s beginnings, especially in extraordinary circumstances, are worth celebrating.

As William and Elliott take their first steps on this journey, both parents and caregivers are filled with hope and excitement for what lies ahead. The start of their lives is marked not only by the joy of new beginnings but also by the incredible support that surrounds them as they embark on this beautiful adventure of parenthood.
