Geena Davis has been married and divorced more than once over her legendary career.
Some of those unions were more complex than others. There’s been actual debate about how many times she legally married.
The critically acclaimed actress and inspirational activist has loved and lost repeatedly throughout her exemplary career.
Here’s a look at her history — and where things stand today.

Geena Davis’ First Marriage: Richard Emmolo
In 1978, Geena Davis had not yet achieved critical acclaim or widespread name recognition. At the age of 22, she began dating Richard Emmolo, a restaurateur, in December of that year. Just a month later, around her twenty-third birthday, she moved in with him. The couple tied the knot in March 1981.
Their marriage lasted nearly two years before they separated in February 1983, with the divorce finalized on June 27, 1984. This marked the end of Davis’ first marriage, a chapter that would soon be overshadowed by her rise to fame.

Geena Davis’ Second Marriage: Jeff Goldblum
After a brief engagement to Christopher McDonald, Davis met actor Jeff Goldblum in 1985 while filming Transylvania 6-5000. This collaborative relationship blossomed with later appearances together in The Fly and Earth Girls Are Easy.
The couple married on November 1, 1987, but their relationship would eventually unravel, leading Davis to file for divorce in October 1990. Despite the split, she has fondly reflected on their marriage, noting the unique understanding they shared, free from the pressures of competition.

Geena Davis’ Third Marriage: Renny Harlin
After her marriage to Goldblum, Davis married filmmaker Renny Harlin in September 1993 following a whirlwind romance lasting just five months. Harlin directed her in Cutthroat Island and the cult classic The Long Kiss Goodnight.
However, this seemingly perfect pairing would soon unravel. Davis filed for divorce on August 26, 1997, a decision that came with a dramatic twist: the day before the filing, her personal assistant had given birth to a child who was later revealed to be Harlin’s. The divorce was finalized in June 1998, marking another chapter in Davis’ tumultuous love life.

Her Fourth Marriage: Reza Jarrahy, Albeit With Some Debate
In the same year she divorced Harlin, Davis began dating Reza Jarrahy, an Iranian-American craniofacial plastic surgeon. Their relationship purportedly led to marriage on September 1, 2001, although the validity of this wedding has been a point of contention.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alizeh, in April 2002. In May 2004, they expanded their family with fraternal twins, sons Kaiis and Kian. However, the marriage faced turbulence, leading to Jarrahy filing for divorce in 2018, claiming their separation occurred in November 2017.

Where Do Things Stand Today?
In her response to Jarrahy’s divorce petition, Davis claimed that they did not need to go through a traditional divorce process because their marriage was not legally valid. This “alleged” marriage has sparked various discussions, but in December 2021, the court finalized their divorce.
Interestingly, both sons changed their surnames from the hyphenated “Davis-Jarrahy” to just “Jarrahy.” As of now, it appears that Geena Davis is single and, when ready, might embark on her journey to find love once more. Meanwhile, fans may find themselves revisiting her impressive filmography, including iconic roles in Commander In Chief and The Long Kiss Goodnight, along with her engaging work in She-Ra And The Princesses of Power.
